Some friends and I caught the midnight premiere of Watchmen and I got a chance to sleep on it a little.

A few SPOILERS under the cuts.

( Overall (plus possibly unpopular opinions, though I don't actually know yet) )

YAYS:

• Amazing location shots (though it turns out it was shot in, like, Wales and some other place that wasn't Australia. Well, and someplace in West Australia.) Really, really gorgeous shots.
• Hugh Jackman is unreasonably hot.
• Great cinematography, if you like the look of Baz's films. And I do.

My thoughts on Twilight:

The trailer for the new Harry Potter movie looks fucking amazing.

Saw Tropic Thunder by myself this morning because none of my other friends seemed enthused.

I love satire as much as I love straight comedies, and I think Thunder pulled it (the former) off wonderfully. Helps a lot if you watch a lot of movies/movie trailers/celeb culture.

( There's been a lot of controversy over this movie already.. )

HOLY JESUS FUCKING CHRIST OH MY GOD.

No review at the moment--head too full of freaking out. A few points:

1) SO GOOD.
2) NOT AN EASY MOVIE TO WATCH.
